Let us know who you are

The Big Church Read is perfect for your home or cell group as you’ve already built up a level of familiarity and trust with the others in your group. You can either do it as your termly curriculum or as an optional extra to enrich your journey of discipleship. Choose a group leader to sign up to our website so that you’ll get all the information you need as you go along.

Get hold of the book.

Everyone in your group will need a copy of the book. You can buy one from your local Christian bookshop, or directly from us here at the Big Church Read.

 Look out for the weekly email

Sign up to the mailing list for the Big Church Read you want to take part in and we’ll send regular updates, including when new video content will be going live. That way you can make sure never to miss the teaching video!

Read the chapters!

Depending on the book you have chosen, some books will have one video per chapter others will span two or three chapters, we’ll provide reading plans so you know what your supposed to be reading and when. 

Get together to chat, and see what others thought

Settle on a fixed time to meet each week over the course of the six-week Big Church Read. It might be that you decide to meet in person if you can now do that safely, or you might prefer to meet online. Either way, choose a time, tell your group, and get together to discuss what you’ve read. If you’ve got a large group, you may wish to split into smaller groups that gives more people the chance to contribute. If the book doesn’t include discussion questions then we will provide those separately to make life easier for small group leaders, they will help kickstart your conversations.It’s amazing what insights other people have and the different perspectives they bring. It’s why the shared experience of reading can be so enriching.

Set aside some time to reflect

We hope you’ll really enjoy the weekly pattern of setting aside time to watch the videos and read the relevant chapters. It’s also important to set aside time to absorb what you’ve been reading and work out what it means for you. If the book doesn’t include discussion questions then we will provide those separately to make life easier for small group leaders.
